About Fenn Hall

Fenn Hall is not just a guest house; for four generations and over 70 years, it has been our family home filled with love and laughter, passed down the generations. We ourselves got married in the CSI Ascension Church, a stone’s throw away, as did our parents.

Fenn Hall has been known as Chunangattu, a tongue twister of a name that goes all the way back 190 years in our family history. Built with careful planning and lots of love by Mathai Fenn Sr. while he worked in the Excise Department under the British in Vypeen, near Cochin, the location of the house was chosen for his wife, Rachel, whose sister lived next door. Even today family members talk about how the sisters used to visit each other several times a day.

With plenty of windows to let in light and fresh air, the building represents a combination of Colonial, Western style architecture and traditional Kerala styles. The lotus pond in the front is a good place to sit and say hello to the neighbours in the way the life in the country used to be.

 

Nestled in the heart of God’s Own Country (Kerala), Fenn Hall Homestay is a colonial bungalow situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Kottayam, yet within walking distance of the Kottayam railway station. This accommodation has been rated as Gold House Homestay by the Government of Kerala Tourism Department.

Fennhall is ideal place to stay if you are a large group of over 6-10 people such as relatives of bride/groom, get togethers/ class reunions, vacation groups and need a private and interconnected place rather than separated in hotel rooms.

There are individual rooms available for singles and couples too.
